London, September 2026 – For London Design Festival 2026, Bisazza presents a special project that will transform its London showroom – at 60 Sloane Avenue - into a space for experience, dialogue and exchange, centred on contemporary living.
For one week, the showroom will be taken over in collaboration with Kate Watson-Smyth, journalist, author and founder of Mad About the House, one of the UK’s leading editorial platforms dedicated to interiors.
The project brings together Bisazza’s culture of mosaic with a contemporary perspective on the home. Kate Watson-Smyth will reinterpret the showroom through a considered selection of furniture and objects, placing Bisazza’s collections within a more domestic and lived-in setting.
In doing so, the showroom moves beyond its traditional display function to become a space open to new perspectives and different ways of engaging with design.
Within this setting, Bisazza will also unveil two new collections, further extending the dialogue between Bisazza’s mosaic heritage and contemporary design.
Smalto Puro is the new collection of glass, rooted in the tradition of Venetian Smalti, reinterpreted through Bisazza’s own design language. The historic material is preserved in its original composition and transformed into the iconic 20×20mm tile format, resulting in a collection of 21 solid colours and 12 blends that expresses rhythm, depth and chromatic vibrancy.
Alongside it, Collezione AMDL CIRCLE explores a different visual register through six black-and-white designs in 10×10mm and 20×20mm formats. Inspired by Italian renowned architect Michele De Lucchi’s concept of “walls without walls,” the collection transforms mosaic into an architectural composition defined by balance, contrast and visual rhythm.
“With this project, we want to create a dialogue between the culture of mosaic and the culture of living” says Alessandro Bisazza, Chairman of Bisazza.
“During London Design Festival, our showroom will become a dynamic and open environment, creating new opportunities for experience, dialogue and exchange with a range of audiences.”
“The takeover offers an opportunity to experience Bisazza’s collections in a different context, one that brings them closer to the realities of everyday life,” says Kate Watson-Smyth.
A programme of events during London Design Festival
Alongside the showroom takeover, Bisazza will present a curated programme of talks and events that extends the installation beyond the physical space, bringing together leading voices from architecture, interiors and design. Designed for design enthusiasts and Festival visitors, the programme will explore the changing nature of contemporary living, examining how craftsmanship, materiality and design continue to shape the way we live today.
Highlights include dedicated events for architects and interior designers, and a series of public conversations with Kate and guests. Reinforcing Bisazza London's position as a cultural destination during London Design Festival, the programme transforms the showroom into a place for dialogue, exchange and discovery, creating opportunities for meaningful conversations around design, creativity and the future of the home.
